This organisation had embarked upon on a program to outsource a significant part of its back office function to a third party. After six months in flight however, the program had stalled and a confidential and sensitive initiative was in danger of a complete meltdown. Practicus was engaged to provide a Change Leader to review the program, set up and help support the new Program Director in his bid to establish control.
When she first went on site, the Practicus Associate found a challenging set of circumstances: there was no formal business case for the program, no meaningful plan, no structure and no governance. She immediately dealt with the burning need to quickly establish a proper business case and get the right sponsorship behind it. She devised a plan and galvanised the delivery team in support of it, recruiting and mobilising external and internal talent behind the new direction. The roadmap, vision and structure she created to support the Program was then passed over to a Change Manager to take the initiative through to delivery.
Such was success of her assignment that the organisation decided to retain the Practicus Associate to look at other areas of weakness in the program portfolio, including a strategy piece to establish an enterprise view of the various work-streams - taking into account a myriad of interdependencies.
